

In 1894 Moritz Glott became Norwegian citizen, and in 1895 he established M. GLOTT's TOBAKFABRIK in Toldbodgaten 24 in Christiania (Oslo). In 1898 they moved to Storgaten 28, in 1902 to Storgaten 24, and finally in 1915 to Torvgaten 33. The speciality of Moritz Glott was obvious cigarettes, and brands like AKABA, ANITRA, BLACK PRINCE, DEMONT, GENTLEMAN, HOLLYWOOD, KNOCK-OUT, MANHATTAN, MARMARA, RED WING, ROMA, SALOME, SIMBA, SPEED, TEXAS - just to mention a few - become household names among smokers.

In 1948, CARL F. JOHANNESSEN A/S (established in 1869) and M. GLOTT merged and became CARL F. & GLOTT A/S FORENEDE TOBAKKFABRIKKER, sited at Torvgaten 33 - until 1959, when Carl F. & Glott A/S was acquired by CONRAD LANGAARD TOBAKKFABRIKK - for M. Glott Tobakfabrik, the circle was completed...
